Dead Space 3 comes out next week. In celebration of Isaac's return to battle necromorphs, EA released an impressive launch trailer. Check it out below.
I've tried out the demo and I'm not too thrilled with the changes for the third game. Will it be less of a survival horror game, or more of a third person co-op adventure? We'll see next week.
Dead Space 3 hits shelves on February 5 on Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
Deep Silver finally reveals actual gameplay footage of the game in a form of a walkthrough, explaining new features added in Riptide. The video explains a new defense mission that requires you to salvage useful items that would help fortify a certain location to fend of hordes of zombies.
The sequel (or spin-off, not too sure)looks and feels the same. That I'm ok with since the whole concept works, what I'm not ok with is the awkward animations from the last game is still present in Riptide. When I saw the player pick up an item as if he was giving a right hook to do so, I noticed right away they didn't change it. I sound a bit picky, but I was really bothered by it in the first game, seeing those weird animations every single time, it was really weird to look at, even the shadow animation showing how your character runs. The small things, I know.
Dead Island Riptide starts off where the first game ended from the looks of it. Nowhere near Banoi, but in the same archipelago. Same characters, same HUD, pretty much the same game.
Did you want a more improved 2013 Dead Island game, or is this simple enough to keep us satisfied? This is the first released video of the game, so let's hope they have more to show because the game comes out on April 23 on Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
EA just announced that the Crysis 3 multiplayer beta will start on Januayry 29 on Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
The open beta will include two game modes:
Hunter Mode:
This multiplayer game mode is all about survival of the fittest. There are two teams, initially comprised of two permanently cloaked “Hunters”, and up to fourteen CELL troopers awaiting extraction. Each trooper slain respawns on the Hunter team to prey on their former allies, building to a frenetic climax. If any of the troopers survive the round, the hunters lose. Whichever way you play, Hunter Mode delivers a heart-pounding test of strategy and survival.
Crash Site Mode:
This multiplayer game mode is the ultimate King of the Hill type experience. An Alien dropship deploys a pod at random around the map. Players on each team must remain near the dropped pod in order to capture the zone and accumulate points. Each alien pod holds two shields players can utilize defensively as weapons. In addition, each Crash Site map will have a “Pinger”, a CEPH-constructed walking weapon of mass destruction. But be careful, other players can hijack the Pinger while you’re inside of it!
Two maps will be available during the beta:
Museum: Roam the dark Ruins of Museum in downtown Manhattan and use the verticality to your advantage.
Airport: Close to the financial district, nature has taken over buildings and planes in this open fields area.
I'm quite glad that this multiplayer demo is hitting all platforms. While I'm not too excited to play Crysis 2, err... I mean Crysis 3, multiplayer is something I really enjoyed on Crysis 2 and I'd like to see the changes made for the third game.
Crysis 3 is said to max out the capabilities of the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. It's possible since until now, Crysis 2 is still one of the best looking games out there thanks to the CryENGINE 3.
Together with the news about the beta, EA also released a new trailer, enjoy.
Grasshopper Manufacture has launched the debut trailer for their next project called Killer is Dead. They included English subtitles, but I was easily distracted by how good the game looks. Check it out below.
The art style used for Killer is Dead is amazing. It gives that No More Heroes vibe and it's definitely Grasshopper's trademark look.
It's planned for a summer release in Japan for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, but no word yet if this will get any western treatment.
Gearbox Software just announced that Aliens: Colonial Marines have finally gone gold for Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. This will be the first Aliens game placed on the same timeline as the movies.
Nothing can stop it now. Gearbox has approved the final build and is now being manufactured. Colonial Marines was first announced in 2008, so this game has been in development for years. Thanks to the constant delays with SEGA and Gearbox Software, this is one game that was highly considered cancelled.
One feature that got me excited for this game is that there will be no HUD (Heads Up Display). No minimap, no ammo indicator, just your gun and the iconic motion sensor. I'm really hoping this game comes out great, we need a decent Aliens game out in the wild.
Aliens: Colonial Marines comes out worldwide on February 12, for Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
