New gameplay footage for The Evil Within coming from the Eurogamer Expo

The-Evil-Within-ss01 During the developer session at the Eurogamer Expo (yes, they have an expo), Bethesda and Tango Gameworks showed new The Evil Within gameplay footage mixed with old ones already shown during previous events. It's 20-minutes of gameplay and I'm not too thrilled with Resident Evil maker's latest project. Watch it below.

The demonstration was divided into two parts; the beginning of the game with some sneaking elements, and the shooting gameplay. Don't mind the stuttering in the video. It was due to the live stream capture for the session, not from actual gameplay.

I appreciate the effort from Shinji Mikami to return Survival Horror back to its roots, but the latest gameplay reminded me of Resident Evil 4, which is the point where the Resident Evil series first went a bit more action-oriented. I have my guard up on this one thanks to the cabin defense part with you putting minds to hold the creatures off. It's planned for a 2014 release, so  maybe they have more interesting features to reveal because I do want more horror titles to succeed, especially the high budget titles.

The Evil Within will be available on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC.

Capcom's PS4 exclusive Deep Down is actually set in 2094 New York

Deep Down This year's Tokyo Game Show is happening right now in Japan and during Sony's Press Conference, Capcom released new information and footage of their new exclusive title for the PS4 called Deep Down. It was first revealed together with the PS4 back in February and first impressions of the game was a gorgeous looking action RPG fantasy game that could be inspired by either Dragon's Dogma, or even Dark Souls. Well, the new gameplay features does confirm that it was indeed inspired by at least one of the games I mentioned, but the settings is not what I was expecting: 2094 New York?

It was quite a surprise and for some reason a complete turn off when the concept of the settings greatly resembles what the Assassin's Creed series did with the whole Animus project. For Deep Down, it's set in the future, with the ability to revisit the past from various items.  How I wish we'd just keep things simple and go with the fantasy setting.

Deep Down Ono presentation

Personal grips about the setting aside, the game does look amazing. The particle effects from fire and water really shows how strong these next-gen console can be if utilized properly. In this case, Capcom seems to be doing it right with their new Panta Rhei game engine. More footage was shown which focused on the game's combat. Not much detail was mention with the game's RPG elements and such, but they did confirm this being an online multiplayer game that allows you to play up to four players. They also mentioned randomly generated content - Procedurally generated dungeons, and monsters(even their appearance).

Deep Down trailer

It might be just me, but with how the gameplay and setting is so far, this really feels like an offspring of Dark Souls and Assassin's Creed. I was excited when they revealed Deep Down for the first time. Now, I'll put my guard up on this one.

Watch Dogs gets a 14-minute gameplay walkthrough video

WatchDogs_Loop-Privacy-Breach-noscale-e1378388005375.jpg

WatchDogs_Loop Privacy Breach-noscale Lately, Ubisoft has been quiet with regards to their upcoming IP Watch Dogs. I actually lost my excitement for this game thanks to all the E3 buzz and next-gen talk. A new video was released showing a 14-minute gameplay walking through the dynamic events that takes place in the world. But the one aspect of this video that kinda placed Watch Dogs back into my radar has to be their multiplayer beingsomewhat integrated into the single player campaign. You'll know what I mean when you check the video below.

I can already see the many trolls that will show up in this game. Watch Dogs is a launch title for both the Xbox One (November 22) and PS4 (November 15), but it will also be available on PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U and of course PC on November 19.  I might just pick up the PC version of the game. It does spark my interest, but I have this gut feeling that this won't be as good as everybody is expecting it to be.

Dead Rising 3's new trailer shows the many ways to deal with a zombie horde

dead-rising-3-5 When it comes to the Dead Rising franchise, the weapons you create to dispose a horde of zombies can go from creative, to down-right hilarious. Even with Dead Rising 3's more serious look, the different weapons you can wield can still bring a big smile in your face. Check out the trailer below.

Weapon crafting is nothing new if you've experienced the first two games. But what's new for the third game is you can actually customize certain vehicles in the game to be zombie killing machines. It may look like a dark Dead Rising, but it's really not with all the weapons shown in this video, especially with the protagonist dressing as Ryu handing out shoryuken's to every zombie near him. Which is why I think the look of the second game was a complete fit with the gameplay.

Regardless, it definitely looks like a good exclusive launch title for the Xbox One. Speaking of which, get ready because it's only two months until we hit November, which I dub next-gen launch month.
