Final Fantasy IX Is Suddenly Released On The PlayStation 4

Out of the blue, Square Enix has just announced that Final Fantasy IX is now available on the PSN store for the PS4.

It was announced at a Press Conference in Japan. Final Fantasy IX, which will be available digitally, will include a few enhancements on the PS4:

  • High-definition movies and character models
  • Auto-save functionality
  • Seven optional booster features, including high-speed mode and no encounter mode, the Master All Abilities booster, which will allow players to automatically master equipped weapons and gear, as well as features to maximize character levels, magic stone counts and gil
  • PlayStation®4 trophy support, share functionality and remote play with the PlayStation®Vita handheld entertainment system

The JPRG will cost $20.99, but in celebration of the game's sudden release on the console, Final Fantasy IX will be available at a discounted price of $16.79 until September 26. Those who purchase the game will score a custom PS4 theme and eight PSN avatars.

Final Fantasy IX can arguably be one of the famed titles in the Final Fantasy series. I for one, wouldn't mind a remaster of some kind to relive Zidane and company's adventure in Gaia. Maybe similar to what they are doing to Final Fantasy VII? Or probably something similar to what they did with Final Fantasy 12: The Zodiac Age.

In any case, if you missed out on this Final Fantasy title, I suggest you give this a try.
