Nintendo Switch 2 Arrives in the Philippines and SEA in July-September 2025
/Nintendo has officially confirmed that the Nintendo Switch 2 will launch globally on June 5, 2025, but this won't be a worldwide release. According to the Southeast Asian version of Nintendo’s official website, the Switch 2 will arrive in the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia between July and September 2025.
Switch 2's Release Window in Southeast Asia
While the Switch 2’s global launch is set for June 5, gamers in Southeast Asia will have to wait until Q3 2025 for the official release. However, some local retailers may import the console ahead of time. This means that while the Switch 2 may be available in the region as early as June, it could come at a higher price due to import costs.
Nintendo Switch Online and eShop Coming to Southeast Asia
One of the biggest surprises revealed on Nintendo’s website is that Nintendo is finally bringing official online services to the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand. This includes:
Nintendo Switch Online service
Nintendo eShop access
Currently, players in these countries must create Nintendo accounts linked to other regions like the US or Japan to access digital purchases and online services. This change could mean localized pricing, improved online connectivity, and a better overall experience for Southeast Asian players.
What Was Revealed in the Nintendo Direct?

The Switch 2 Nintendo Direct not only detailed all the new features in the new console but all the games available at launch. You can check out the full list of confirmed Switch 2 games as the launch comes with a new Mario Kart game called Mario Kart World, Switch 2 version of Switch games like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, third-party titles, and more.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows greatly blends the classic Assassin’s Creed stealth with the RPG elements of recent entries. Its dynamic world, seasonal changes, and improved stealth mechanics make exploration a joy, but Yasuke’s restrictive gameplay, overall story, and a half-baked notoriety system hold it back.
