These Borderlands 2 SHiFT Codes Still Work In 2020

The coronavirus pandemic has made a huge impact on not just the games industry, but society at large. Not only have major video game events like E3 been cancelled, but many areas have shut down schools and employers have pivoted to work from home setups. It’s all part of a shared effort to slow the spread of the virus by discouraging people from unnecessary contact.

So what are you going to do with all this free time you have from not commuting or worse, not being able to work? Play video games, naturally. And while a lot of people are jumping into Borderlands 3 this week thanks to its debut on Steam, some are settling for Borderlands 2. Which is fine. Borderlands 2 hasn’t become any less fun than it was when it was released eight years ago.

But before you create a character or login to an existing one, take a moment to enter the Extras menu and access the SHiFT system where you can input some codes to unlock rare weapons, unique cosmetics and golden keys used to open a special crate that delivered purple rarity guns and gear. For a shooter so reliant on the power of your loot – this is before Destiny but after Diablo – the SHiFT codes are a hoot.

And though the fervor has cooled somewhat for Borderlands 2, Gearbox continues to dish out SHiFT Codes. This is absurd! It’s akin to publishers giving out free microtransactions for followers on Twitter. While many codes have expired some continue to remain usable till now. Here’re some SHiFT Codes you can use on Borderlands 2 in the year of our Lord 2020. Don’t say I don’t do you no favors.
