2024 Warhammer Skulls Reveals Mechanicus 2, New Space Marines 2 Details, and More
/The 2024 Warhammer Skulls showcase was packed with announcements and world firsts as we were given updates to not only upcoming Warhammer titles but also existing titles.
Warhammer 40K Mechanius 2 Announced
Publisher Kasedo Games and developer Bulwark Studios revealed they are working on Warhammer 40K Mechanicus 2, a sequel to the strategy game released back in 2018.
Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 Multiplayer revealed
Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 is one of the franchise’s most highly anticipated title and in the showcase we are given a glimpse of the game’s PvE-focused 3-player co-op mode as well as the return of PvP.
Space Marine 2 is set to release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on September 9 as digital pre-orders for the game are now live on consoles and PC.
Warhammer 40K Boltgun DLC revealed
Publisher Focus Entertainment and developer Auroch Digital are not done with Warhammer 40K Boltgun as a DLC called ‘Forges of Corruption’ is coming on June 18 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. The DLC will also be available on the Switch version but will be released in a later date.
The new DLC adds new levels, and weapons, but alongside the release of the DLC comes with a free horde mode for the game.
Talisman 5th Digital Edition Announced
Nomad Games revealed they are working on Talisman 5th Edition board game, the latest digital iteration of the famous board game. This version of the board game comes with fresh artwork, revamped rules, and improvements to the interface and design to give it a modern touch. The game will feature solo and multiplayer with the option to play against AI opponents, as well as the ability to customize your game from house rules, difficulty settings, and more.
The showcase also revealed that Blood Bowl 3 is getting a brand new Necromantic Horror faction as part of the new season 5, which arrives alongside cross-platform play June 11th; a Demolition Pack DLC with 11 new units has launched for 4X Warhammer 40,000: Gladius; Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader announced their first ever DLC, Void Shadows, will be releasing on August 8th; and Warhammer 40K Speed Freeks reveals its release window and launches a playable beta demo now on Steam during Skulls.
Xbox Free Play Days for Warhammer games
The showcase also revealed that nine Warhammer games will be part of Xbox’s Free Play Days from May 23 to May 26 for Xbox Game Pass Core and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members. The nine games are:

The 2024 Warhammer Skulls showcase also had updates for other Warhammer titles.
Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector - The next faction, the Astra Militarum, was announced during the showcase, as free units launch as part of Warhammer Skulls
Warhammer: Vermintide 2 - A Skulls Throne event and rewards have gone live for Warhammer Skulls, alongside a major QoL game update for Winds of Magic. On May 30th, the next alpha will be available for the new Vermintide Versus PVP mode!
Warhammer 40,000: Darktide - A new teaser was revealed for the new free update, Secrets of the Machine God, including a first look at its brand-new level - coming June 25.
Total War: Warhammer III - A trailer for the new free legendary hero Karanak was shown during the showcase, coming soon.
Warhammer 40,000: Tacticus - The new Machines of Wars expansion was announced and confirmed for June, bringing large units such as tanks and dreadnoughts to the hit mobile game for the first time!
Warhammer 40,000: Warpforge - A new faction, the Adepta Sororitas showcased and launched for Warhammer Skulls, alongside a teaser for future new content
Horus Heresy: Legions - The new Inferno Expansion has been released, including Leman Russ and the Space Wolves legion
World of Tanks: Modern Armour - The mighty Rogal Dorn battle tank is added to the console game

Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
