A Plague Tale: Requiem Launches This October, Extended Gameplay Released

A Plague Tale: Requiem will be released on October 18, and a new 12-minute gameplay was released alongside the release date announcement.

Amicia and Hugo’s journey continues as the new gameplay footage shows the same focus on stealth with Amicia using her trusty sling and other tools to distract or kill threats blocking their path. She’s more capable it seems as she now wields a crossbow, while Hugo has more control of his abilities, being able to sense enemies nearby, serving as a tool for the player to see nearby enemies through walls.

At the end of the video, we see Hugo display his ability to control the rats, swarming soldiers one by one to protect an injured Amicia. But it seems that controlling the rats has its drawbacks. The video ends with Amicia holding a now unconscious Hugo, staring at a flood of rats heading towards their direction.

The first game, A Plague Tale: Innocence is what many considered a sleeper hit as it slowly grew in popularity after release. If you haven’t tried the first game, I suggest you give it a go when you get a chance. It delivers a gripping tale with unique gameplay scenarios that require you to navigate through plagued rats and armed soldiers while you protect a child, and all you have is a slingshot.

A Plague Tale: Requiem will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. The sequel will also be available through Xbox Game Pass on day one.
