Across the Wonderlands Appetizer Demo Launches at 2024 Steam Next Fest

Indie game studio Covenant.dev has released the “Appetizer Demo” for their enchanting new open-world survival crafting game, Across the Wonderlands, during this year’s Steam Next Fest. Players can jump in now to experience this whimsical adventure that blends crafting, survival, and creativity into a unique, food-filled world.

Across the Wonderlands takes players into a vibrant, fantastical world where they can build a magical base and craft delicious dishes to help them battle against quirky enemies. You’ll explore floating islands, collect resources, and experiment with just about everything you find as it seems like almost everything can be eaten or thrown.

One of the most unique features is your portable base, stored in a magical briefcase. Players can access it at any time outside of combat, allowing them to build structures, raise adorable creatures, and grow resources to prepare for their next journey. A nice twist where exploring doesn’t result in a return trip back to your home base.

The game’s demo introduces players to an introduction section of the game, featuring a range of mechanics, including crafting sample dishes and taking on the hilariously bizarre Snotty and his slug minions.

Quickly combine a variety of materials, including emotions, to craft fearsome weapons or tasty treats  on the go—no recipes or workstations stations needed. Savor your best meals for buffs, or hurl cooking mishaps at enemies to alter their attributes!

Play With Your Food!

Engage in playful combat, where food is your weapon of choice! Battle bizarre monsters by hurling crafted dishes at them, and watch as they react in surprising ways. Whether they’re stunned by sweetness or enraged by a spicy meal, every fight is a delightful and unpredictable food fight!

Build Your Magical Dimension

Collect items, resources, creatures, and ingredients from the mainland to upgrade and personalize your magical Briefbase. Literally build your skills within the base, then use the capabilities of those structures to tackle exciting challenges in the outer world.

Coming Soon: Early Access and Mod Support

The devs are also preparing Across the Wonderlands for its Early Access launch by the end of next year, where players will also get comprehensive mod support and the ability to play the game with three other players in a 4-player co-op.
