No More New Content Is Planned for the Battle Royal Game Bloodhunt
/After just 12 months, the battle royale online game Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt is ceasing active development, meaning there will be no further updates for the game. But the game will remain online and available to play… for now.
The battle royale game simply couldn’t attract a stable community to “sustain development”, developer Sharkmob said in their post announcing the game’s future.
But servers will remain active for those still interested in playing the game with a few twists to keep things somewhat fresh:
“Bloodhunt servers will stay up and the game will remain available to play. Our aim is to keep the servers going for as long as we have an active player base and community. For those who enjoy the game and want to continue playing, we have worked on some solutions to ensure that the game continues to be interesting. An in-game player voting system will be deployed to regularly unlock new things and keep Bloodhunt fresh. We will share more granular details about how this system works when we get closer to releasing our next update, which will be the last planned patch for Bloodhunt. Beyond that update, patches will only be related to maintenance.”
The ability to purchase Blood Hunt’s in-game premium currency will be deactivated on September 26, 2023, but Sharkmod intends to implement a way for their community to earn in-game tokens easily before the feature turns off for good.
It’s sad to hear Blood Hunt is tapping out considering it is one of the battle royale games that felt like it stood a chance at standing out during the rise of the battle royale genre releasing left and right.
Blood Hunt is free-to-play on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
If you’re into the world of Vampire: The Masquerade, which is where Blood Hunt is set, Vampires: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 is still in active development but has no release date in site as 2023 is uncertain.
Metaphor: ReFantazio is now my favorite title from the Persona team by far. It’s one of those rare games where its main pillars work harmoniously, and you get lost in its charm. It’s a pristine JRPG, with enough style and substance to satisfy hardcore JRPG fans, Persona fans, and even those who rarely touch JRPGs.
