Akuma Street Fighter 6 Look Revealed, Character Set to Launch This Spring
/Capcom announced that Akuma, the final DLC character for season 1 of Street Fighter 6, will release in Spring 2024. Together with the release window announcement, we are also given a teaser trailer showing off the iconic character’s new look in the game.
Akuma is the last character in the Year 1 Character Pass, which also includes Rashid, A.K.I, and recently released Ed. Those who own the pass will have Akuma unlocked the moment he is added to the game while players without the pass can opt to purchase the character separately through the game’s premium currency.
Here are some added details about Akuma coming from Capcom:
The demonic Akuma joins the Street Fighter 6 roster and rounds out the list of the award-winning fighting game’s Year 1 characters when he hits the streets starting in spring 2024!
Players can throw hands with Akuma across all three game modes, including Fighting Ground, World Tour, and Battle Hub. We look forward to sharing much more on Akuma soon. And stay tuned later this year for captivating announcements on Year 2 content and potentially even some fun events coming to the Battle Hub!
Akuma will launch alongside another Street Fighter 6’s balance patch, tweaking the full roster based on the current playstyle of players and data gathered ever since the game was released last year. This patch will be a major balance patch as Akuma’s release officially marks the end of Year 1 for the game and officially beginning Year 2, so expect the patch to change the game’s meta landscape significantly.
Capcom did release a balance patch recently soon after the conclusion of The Capcom Cup X esports event, nerfing characters such as Luke and JP, while slightly improving/adjusting select characters such as Jamie, just to name a few.
Metaphor: ReFantazio is now my favorite title from the Persona team by far. It’s one of those rare games where its main pillars work harmoniously, and you get lost in its charm. It’s a pristine JRPG, with enough style and substance to satisfy hardcore JRPG fans, Persona fans, and even those who rarely touch JRPGs.
