An Alien: Isolation Sequel Is in the Works at Creative Assembly

It’s crazy to think that Alien: Isolation, a survivor horror game that surprised fans of the genre back in 2014, will get a sequel as the developers confirmed that early development of a sequel is currently in the works.

The announcement was made in social media celebrating the game’s 10th anniversary.

Here’s the full message from Al Hope, Creative Director, of Alien: Isolation:

To our fans around the world,

It’s hard to believe that it has been 10 years since we embarked on our journey with the release of Alien: Isolation.

When we started developing Alien: Isolation, we had one guiding principle: to create a truly authentic experience that went back to the roots of the Alien franchise—a new story capturing the atmosphere and terror of the original 1979 movie masterpiece.

It’s been nothing short of incredible to witness your passion for the game over the years and see it reach so many players around the world.

On the 10th anniversary, it seems only fitting to let you know that we have heard your distress calls loud and clear.

Today, I’m delighted to confirm, on behalf of the team, that a sequel to Alien: Isolation is in early development. We look forward to sharing more details with you when we’re ready.

Once again, thank you.

Until next time,
Al Hope, Creative Director, Alien: Isolation

This is great news as Alien: Isolation was a big surprise on how Creative Assembly was able to embrace the dark, eerie, and lonely atmosphere of the franchise’s first movie as the game puts players in the shoes of the daughter of Ellen Ripley as she is isolated in a large space station being hunted by a Xenomorph.

This is just a confirmation as early development could mean they started as early as last month, so don’t hold your breath as this could come out years from now.

Sega Celebration the game’s 10th anniversary

Sega is currently celebrating the game’s 10th anniversary as they just did an anniversary livestream, giving away the Switch collector’s edition on social media, celebrating various fan art of the game, and promoting the game’s official soundtrack.

They even did a Lofi Girl collaboration which is pretty neat and a great option for background music as it fits perfectly as we go through October. Have a listen below.
