Bethesda is shutting down their games launcher

Bethesda has announced that they are retiring their PC games launcher application Bethesda.net. If by some miracle you do have games there that you care about, By early April, players will be able to transfer their library of games onto their Steam account.

The migration of player accounts from Bethesda.net to the owner’s Steam account will also include whatever amount is left in their wallet once the migration begins. So, in essence, the only thing that will change is having one less launcher on your system.

Bethesda.net was meant to be a launcher for the publisher’s list of games and went live in 2016. Though they are retiring the launch, you should still remember your Bethesda.net credentials as they could still be required to access certain content for some games such as mods and cosmetic DLC. If you do launch games through Bethesda.net, you’ll still be able to do that until May.

You can read the full details on everything about the process of Bethesda.net shutting down here as some games will be affected, while others will not. For example, you won’t be able to transfer your save files of Wolfenstein: Youngblood. Console players are not affected by this from what I’m seeing.

Bethesda launched Bethesda.net back in 2016 as a hub for all of the publishers list of games.
