Dead by Daylight Shrine of Secrets perks for May 3 - May 9, 2023
This section found in the in-game store of Dead by Daylight gives players a chance to unlock perks from Survivors or Killers still unavailable for them, or have not yet earned the highest tier.
Choose carefully if you don’t have many shards available during this time as 2,000 shards are hard to earn, especially for new players from either side.
Killer Perks
Game Afoot (The Skull Merchant) - Whenever you hit a Survivor with the highest cumulative chase time with a basic attack, they become the Obsession.
While chasing your Obsession, Game Afoot activates, giving you a 5% haste for 8/9/10 seconds after damaging a Generator, breaking a breakable wall, or destroying a pallet.
Dragon’s Grip (The Blight) - When kicking a Generator, this perk activates for the next 30 seconds.
The next Survivor that tried to repair the Generator you just kicked will scream, revealing their location for 4 seconds, and gets affected with the Exposed status effect for 60 seconds.
Survivor Perks
Friendly Competition (Thalita Lyra) - Whenever you complete a Generator with at least one other Survivor, Friendly Competition activates, giving you and that other Survivor an increase in repair speed by +5% for the next 45/60/75 seconds.
Off the Record (Zaarina Kassir) - Afer b being unhooked or unhooking yourself, this perk activates for the next 60/70/80 seconds.
While active, it prevents your aura from being revealed to the Killer if they have a perk that does so, suppresses any noise you make while injured, and gives you a longer Endurance.
Which perks are worth getting this week?
The first shrine for May 2023 is another interesting list of perks as we have two new perks coming from the Tools of Torment Chapter on offer.
For starters, Off the Record is a decent Survivor perk that increases your chances of getting away safely when removed from a hook state. It’s usually a waste of time when a Killer goes for a Survivor with this perk, so it’s worth having if you plan to have a build around being chased.
One of the newest Survivor perk Friendly Competition is another option to have for your Generator repair loadouts. It needs you to finish a Generator together to get the effect of this generator, which is fine since you can pair this up with Prove Thy Self or have an Aura reading perk that allows you to look for teammates. The great thing about this perk is that the benefit doesn’t go away when a Killer hits you, so at least one of you can run away and make use of the bonus.
For Killers, the new Game Afoot works best when paired only with specific Killers like Ghost Face or paired with perks like Enduring. This can really put a few Survivors off guard as 5% is significant. Though, it will be hard to pull off as you have a small window of opportunity to get value off the perk.
Lastly, Dragon’s Grip isn’t a bad choice as Dead by Daylight’s Killers lean more toward perks that require you to kick the Generator for regression. Killers with good mobility like the Blight or Wraith will get good value off of this.
