Destiny 2 Season of the Deep Weekly Reset - What is Happening in Week 2 (May 31 - June 6)
/Season of the Deep continues for Destiny 2 as Week 2 of season 21 slightly moves forward the overall story of Sloane and Ahsa’s connection with one another, while we get a nice conversation between Zavala and Saint-14. We then have Iron Banner, a new variant of the seasonal activity, and more.
Destiny 2 - Season of the Deep Week 2 (May 31 - June 6)
New Season of the Deep Mission
This week the story goes deeper as Guardians continue doing salvaging missions and help Sloane strengthen her connection with the Ahsa to hopefully understand what she knows. Week 2 unlocks a new variant for Salvage and Deep Dive mission, resulting in a new boss to face at the end of the activity.
The first half of a Salvage mission plays the same while the second half can either be Hive enemies or now Taken. Deep Dives can now either be Fallen or Hive.
Iron Banner returns with two new weapons to earn
The first Iron Banner for Season of the Deep is live and it brings the game’s first Fusion Rifle Strand weapon called Pressurized Precision. We also have the return of the Swarm of the Raven Void Grenade Launcher which has an interesting perk pool for both PvE and PvP.
As for Iron Banner activity itself, it’s the same old Iron Banner Control mode where if a team controls all three zones, all three will be locked as there’s a limited time for the team to earn extra points per kill. Once it’s over, all zones reset to neutral.
To make the most out of each Iron Banner match, be sure to wear Iron Banner gear. Equip a full set of Iron Banner armor (previous sets work), an Iron Banner banner, and complete the challenge to get a significant boost in rank points.
Bright Dust store offering this week
This week’s Bright Dust offering is finally back to normal as for weeks we were given a variety of Guardian Games-themed items to consider. For Week 2 items worth mentioning are the weapon ornament for the No Time to Explain exotic pulse rifle as well as the Torturous Dance, in case you’ve always wanted a group emote to bring in your activities.
Featured Dungeon and Raid for Week 2
Spire of the Watcher is this week’s featured dungeon as well as the Garden of Salvation being the featured raid, giving you a chance to farm what you missed and clear any challenges you might have not done yet.
Don’t forget that featured dungeons mean that you can repeat this activity multiple times to farm for its unique loot pool.
The new Ghost of the Deep dungeon is naturally still one of the featured activities this week as you can earn a Pinnacle from it. If you haven’t tried the new dungeon I suggest you do so as it’s more fun than challenging, and the rewards for completing all of the encounters is definitely worth the time.
Root of Nightmare this week - Crossfire
If you are looking to do the Root of Nightmare raid, consider the challenge this week. The Crossfire challenge can be done in the second encounter of the raid as it tasks the fireteam to not shoot the launch crystals on their side. Guardians of the opposite side of the ravine will need to be the ones to shoot these launch crystals to help their teammates cross to the other side.
Beyond this, Destiny 2 has the usual reset across all other activities such as Dares of Eternity, raid challenges, and Destination activities. A full list can be seen here thanks to the Destiny 2 Reddit community.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
