Elden Ring Expansion Announced, Called ‘Shadow of the Erdtree’
/Bandai Namco and developer FromSoftware announced that their open-world action RPG Elden Ring will be getting its first expansion and it’s called Shadow of the Erdtree. It’s currently in development and that’s all the information given so far.
Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree expansion - no release date announced
It was announced through Elden Ring’s official Twitter page with a photo that’s likely concept art for the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. “An upcoming expansion for Elden Ring, Shadow of the Erdtree, is currently in development. We hope you look forward to new adventures in the Lands Between.” says the tweet from the Elden Ring page.
An expansion is no surprise considering Elden Ring is considered one of the best games of 2022. Some might even go far as to consider it one of the best of this generation.
The action RPG has won Game of the Year during the 2022 Game Awards and has sold over 20 million copies since it launched last February, an impressive milestone considering the difficulty of souls games. For comparison, Dark Souls 3, a game also developed by FromSoftware, also reached 10 million copies sold, but it took the title 4 years to reach this milestone while Elden Ring reached it days before it turned one.
Metaphor: ReFantazio is now my favorite title from the Persona team by far. It’s one of those rare games where its main pillars work harmoniously, and you get lost in its charm. It’s a pristine JRPG, with enough style and substance to satisfy hardcore JRPG fans, Persona fans, and even those who rarely touch JRPGs.
