Guild Gear: Strive Cross-play Open Beta Test Happening on October 14 to 17
/Bandai Namco and Arc System Works announced that a cross-platform network beta test for their fighting game Guilty Gear: Strive is happening on October 14 to October 17 across PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC. The beta client for the test will be available to all users, even those that still don’t own the game.
Those interested in participating in the beta can start downloading the beta client starting October 13, 12 AM PT / 3 AM ET. The beta will go online on October 14 at 6 PM PT / 9 PM ET / 9 AM SGT and will last until October 17 at 12 AM PT / 3 AM ET / 3 PM SGT.
If you’re still on the fence about picking up Guilty Gear: Strive, this is the best time as the beta offers all 21 characters (including all currently released DLC characters) and nine game modes:
Tutorial Mode – Learn the basics of how to play.
Mission Mode – Learn useful techniques for matches in a mission format.
Survival Mode – Fight consecutive battles against the COM with a limited pool of health.
Training Mode – Recreate a variety of situations and practice to your heart’s content.
VS COM, VS 2P – Fight against the computer or a friend.
Online Match (Rank Tower, Open Park, Player Match) – Play online against others from across the globe.
Combo Maker – Make your own original combo or setplay, and search for other players’ recipes to try.
Digital Figure – Set up characters, furniture, effects, and more to create your own unique scene.

Those on PlayStation will be pleased to know that a PlayStation Plus subscription will not be required to participate in the beta test.
Guilty Gear: Strike is now available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC through Steam since June of 2021. The game is currently on its second season of DLC content with the first season adding new battle stages and five additional playable characters. The second season is currently underway and has so far released Bridget. Three more playable characters are planned to be released under the second season pass as well as two battle stages and some a color pack.
