Bethesda celebrates 25 years of Fallout, multiple events planned this month

Bethesda announced that they will be celebrating 25 years of Fallout this October with a series of events each week to celebrate the long-running RPG franchise.

Bethesda celebrating 25 years of Fallout

Yes, it has been that long since the first Fallout game released in October 1997. With this month being Fallout’s birth month, Bethesda is planning various events each week during this month. These events will consist of sales, giveaways, community content, and more .

Fallout 76 free play week

For starters, Bethesda will be hosting a free week play for their online game Fallout 76 starting today, October 4 until October 11. Fallout 76 came out in 2018 with mediocre reviews but slowly improved over the years and eventually established a community taking in the new content added to the game each quarter.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers get an extra bonus this week as they all get a free month of Fallout 1st, their premium subscription service for the game that offers a few in-game perks and in-game premium currency to spend in the game’s in-game store. This additional bonus will be offered until October 24.

Also, This week Amazon Prime members can also receive a free Windows store code of Fallout 76.

Faction Quiz

The first week features a Faction Quiz, a fun 7-question questionnaire called Post-Apocalyptic-Loyalty Simulator (P.A.L.S., for short), which is meant to determine what faction in the Fallout universe you belong to. No rewards or anything here, just a fun activity for Fallout fans that might get a kick out of the Fallout-like dialogue choices found within. I’m apparently a member of the Cult of the Mothman. Perfect.

Fallout Shelter updated

The free-to-play vault simulator Fallout Shelter is getting updated this week. New content is coming in the way of fending off an alien threat in a new questline, which features new weapons, enemies, and new Dwellers to recruit. It will also have new cosmetics to earn to decorate your vault. It has been four years since Fallout Shelter was updated, so expect a patch to come out very soon as Bethesda has yet to release a date for this.

The first week of this month-long Fallout celebration will also consist of a giveaway and sales for Fallout 4’s Creation Club, an anniversary kickoff stream through Bethesda’s Twitch account on October 7, and an Xbox dynamic background theme that Xbox Series X|S players can claim and download for free.
