Gundam Evolution ends service, servers shuts down this November
/Bandai Namco Online announced that their online team-based FPS Gundam Evolution will be ending service on November 29, 2023.
“It is with great sadness that we are announcing the conclusion of Gundam Evolution,” says executive producer Kazuya Maruyama in the announcement. “We wanted to create a title that brought FPS fans and Gundam fans together. We challenged ourselves to create an authentic Gundam FPS game that could be played globally.”
By July 26, 2023, the studio will disable the ability to purchase EVO Coins (premium in-game currency), EC Pod Limited, as well as well as any updates on these systems.
Seasons 6 and 7 still releasing as planned
Despite its closure, they are still releasing new content as planned before release. On August 23, 2023, a new unit as well as two new maps will be added to the game. Season 7 will then launch on October 25 and will add one more new unit and a new map
With the game closing for good, the developers will be increasing the amount of Capital Points you can earn while playing the game so that players can at least earn not only the new unit coming to the game but also earn whatever they have still locked without the need of EVO Coins.
Season 7 will be the game's last run, and there won’t be any Ranked rewards to chase with it being the final season.
The developers are still planning one final Mission Briefing stream scheduled on July 21, 11 PM PDT to go through the closure of the game.
Gundam Evolution is a free-to-play team-based FPS based in the world of Gundam and was officially released on September 22, 2022. It was released on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
Metaphor: ReFantazio is now my favorite title from the Persona team by far. It’s one of those rare games where its main pillars work harmoniously, and you get lost in its charm. It’s a pristine JRPG, with enough style and substance to satisfy hardcore JRPG fans, Persona fans, and even those who rarely touch JRPGs.
