Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami, and 8 Other Games Leaving PlayStation Plus This August 2023
/The next batch of PlayStation Plus titles leaving the service next month has been revealed as Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami, Yakuza Kiwami 2, and seven other games will be leaving the Games and Classics catalog on August 15, 2023.
Here are the titles leaving the service.
Games Leaving PS Plus Extra and Premium/Deluxe on August 15
8-Bit Armies
Borderlands 3
Carmageddon: Max Damage
The Crew 2
DCL - The Game
GRIP
Nidhogg
Yakuza 0
Yakuza Kiwami
Yakuza Kiwami 2
In PlayStation Plus, players can head to the ‘last chance to play’ section of the service showing what games are leaving soon. For my region, which is Hong Kong, seven games were displayed as the other three mentioned above were not available in my area to begin with. For those in the US and EU, you should see the full ten games listed above.
The most notable titles leaving the service is the first three Yakuza games Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami, and Yakuza Kiwami 2, effectively making the complete Yakuza series incomplete in the service. After August 15, fans of the series will only have access to Yakuza 3 Remastered, Yakuza 4 Remastered, Yakuza 5, Yakuza 6, and Yakuza: Like a Dragon.
It may be sad that ten games are leaving the service but Sony did update PlayStation Plus with over 10 more games, notably, It Takes Two, Sniper Elite 5, World War Z Aftermath, Dynasty Warriors 9, and more.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
