Helldivers 2 Future Plans - Is There a Roadmap?
/It has been a surreal time for Arrowhead Games Studios, the developer responsible for the crazy popular 4-player co-op shooter Helldivers 2 as most of their dev time spent soon after the game’s release has been resolving all the matchmaking issues and increasing server capacity and functionality to cater to the sheer amount of players that answered the call to defend Super Earth.
With now weeks since release, many players have wondered if there is a roadmap planned for this live service game. Unfortunately, no official roadmap has been released so far as again, all efforts are on the game’s servers and online features.
Helldivers 2 roadmap updates
Thankfully, the studio has resolved most of the issues and has brought server capacity to a reasonable state that the team can now look forward to and work on in the future.
Arrowhead boss Johan Pilestedt expressed how proud he was of the team as Helldivers 2 servers held well with no major problem occurring during a weekend. This gives them confidence to move forward release improvements and plan for future content.
When asked about a roadmap of any kind, Pilestedt said that the “team is working on it” as the old roadmap is now “very out of date in comparison to what we now want to do”, suggesting that their ambitions to support this game is greater due to the success it’s currently experiencing in both Steam and on the PlayStation 5.
We’ll update this page as soon as there is more information about Helldivers 2’s roadmap.
It’s yet another success story for 2024 as no one thought a game like Helldivers 2 would do so well. According to SteamDB, the co-op shooter’s all-time peak is now over 400k. I’ve been playing the game almost every day and it’s an easy 4/5 as it’s a fantastic sequel with a great foundation to last for years.
Metaphor: ReFantazio is now my favorite title from the Persona team by far. It’s one of those rare games where its main pillars work harmoniously, and you get lost in its charm. It’s a pristine JRPG, with enough style and substance to satisfy hardcore JRPG fans, Persona fans, and even those who rarely touch JRPGs.
