Like a Dragon: Ishin! To have Kenny Omega and Rahul Kohli Trooper Cards
/Sega and Developer Ryu Ga Gotoku announced that Like a Dragon: Ishin! will feature AEK wrestler Kenny Omega and actor Rahul Kohli (Netflix’s Midnight Mass) as two of the six special guest Trooper Cards for the game. The best part is these cards will be free DLC when the game launches in February.
Kenny Omega and Rahul Kohli’s cameo in the form of Trooper Cards and can easily be described as a summon to provide the player with unique abilities and buffs. The inclusion of cards is a new addition to the remake as using these cards is meant to give a player an edge in battle when used at the right time.
Omega’s Trooper Card is called “Essence of the One-Winged Angel” and reads: “A strapping fighter who's traveled through space, time, and reality to serve the Shinsengumi. It’s said that his elite skills can summon the stars themselves." This is not only a reference to Final Fantasy 7, but also Omega’s wrestling finisher also called One-Winged Angel.
It doesn’t replicate Omega’s wrestling finisher but allows Sakamoto Ryoma to do an area of effect blue slash covered in feathers around using his sword. It’s surely meant for crowd control as the ability covers a lot of ground.
As for Kohli, his Trooper card is called “Essence of Firestorm” with an in-game description that reads: “A chivalrous man who's traveled through space, time, and reality to serve the Shinsengumi. Draws upon his experience in law enforcement to keep the peace.”. This ability is straight to the point as using this card will make Ryoma blast enemies with beam-like firely blast that damages anyone caught in the blast.
Both Omega and Kohli are gamers and expressed their passion for the Yakuza series numerous times over the years and are now part of the game in a small but wholesome way.
More guest Trooper Cards are planned and it’s likely the folks at Ryu Ga Gotoku will reveal the remaining cards soon as Like a Dragon Ishin! Will launch on February 21 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
