Marvel’s Midnight Suns Delayed again, Could Release in 2023
/Developer Firaxis Games announced that their strategy game Marvel’s Midnight Suns will no longer launch this October 7 but instead will launch siometime before the end of this fiscal year, which ends on March 31, 2023.
Here’s the message sent by the developers via twitter regarding the delay.
“We have an important update to share regarding our launch date for Marvel’s Midnight Suns. After discussion with the team, we’ve made the decision to move back the launch timing of Marvel’s Midnight Suns to ensure we are delivering the best possible experience for our fans. We will launch later this fiscal year on Windows PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5, with the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch versions following at a later date.”
“We know fans are looking forward to playing Marvel’s Midnight Suns and we will use this extra time to make sure we are delivering the best possible experience for everyone. Marvel’s Midnight Suns is easily the biggest game we’ve ever made and we’re incredibly appreciative of all the support players have shared with us throughout the years.”
This is the second delay for the game as the first pushed its March 2022 release launch to this October. Now, with no new release date given together with the announcement, Marvel’s Midnight Suns could possibly be released as late as March 2023.
But this new release window is just for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC versions of the game. The PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch version is currently slated with no release date.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns was first announced back in Gamescom 2021 and is a strategy game with a roster of Marvel’s known superhero characters fending off the supernatural. Combat will be turn-based and will play similarly with Firaxis’ XCOM series, but this one will have a card system that will determine each character’s action. Players will take the role of a new hero called The Hunter and will team up with up to two Marvel characters in each mission.
