Metroid Prime Remastered Announced for the Switch, Out Now
/Nintendo announced that a Metgroid Prime Remastered during the February 2023 Nintendo Direct and shadow dropped it as it’s now available on the Nintendo Switch eShop.
Metroid Prime Remastered now available digitally on the Switch
Metroid Prime Remastered will feature the original 2002 Gamecube game but now with updated controls for the Switch (with classic controls) and HD resolution and improved graphics. This version of the game will also feature a soundtrack gallery, a 3D character gallery, as well as a casual difficulty for those that want a chill revisit through Metroid Prime.
It’s set to cost $39.99 and they do plan to release a physical copy of the remastered version on February 22.
Metroid Prime is the first-person game in the Metroid series and was given two sequels: Metroid Prime 2: Echoes in 2004 for the GameCube, and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption for the Wii back in 2007. Nintendo did not mention if the sequels will receive the remaster treatment as well.
Metroid Prime 4 is one of the highly anticipated games for the Switch but we haven’t heard much about the project since it was announced back in 2017, though we know Nintendo is still working on it with Retro Studios, the studio responsible for the first three games.
The February 2023 Nintendo Direct, which debuted on February 8, also revealed the release date and new gameplay footage of Pikmin 4, a new trailer for Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Professor Layton and the New World of Steam, a new Splatoon 3 expansion pass, and more.
Metaphor: ReFantazio is now my favorite title from the Persona team by far. It’s one of those rare games where its main pillars work harmoniously, and you get lost in its charm. It’s a pristine JRPG, with enough style and substance to satisfy hardcore JRPG fans, Persona fans, and even those who rarely touch JRPGs.
