Mobile Battle Royale Game Sonic Rumble Announced by Sega, Out This Winter
/Sega announced they are releasing a new battle royale mobile Sonic game called Sonic Rumble, set to release sometime in the Winter of 2024.
Information is a bit scarce but here’s how Sega describes it.
SEGA is proud to reveal Sonic Rumble, the newest addition to the Sonic the Hedgehogfranchise, releasing this winter. The upcoming Sonic mobile game invites players to enter a twisted toy worldcreated by the notorious Dr. Eggman.
In Sonic Rumble, players will take control of toy figures to compete in thrilling 32-player battle royale challenges, racing against each other to collect the most rings and prove themselves to be the fastest in the toybox. With iconic characters from the Sonic the Hedgehog universe available for customization, players can create their own unique avatars and dive into the action-packed gameplay.
Developed and managed by SEGA in collaboration with Rovio, known for the global success, Angry Birds, Sonic Rumble is the first title to be released jointly by SEGA and Rovio. SEGA aims to further expand the presence of the Sonic the Hedgehog brand within the global mobile gaming market with Rovio’s marketing expertise and experience.
A closed playtest is played for the game but it looks like when the playtest goes live it will only be available to players based in the US.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
