Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta Rewards
Players who try out the Monster Hunter Wilds open beta will be rewarded with a cosmetic pendant called ‘Palico Teddy’ and an item pack that you’ll receive for the full game next year.
Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta Content
The Open Beta will allow players to try out three specific content: the character creation, a story segment called ‘Story Experience Quest’, and the ‘Doshaguma Hunt’.
Character creation is what you’d expect as you’ll be able to customize your hunter based on how you want him/her to look, as well as the design of your trusty Palico. Character customization will carry over to the final version of the game.
In the beta’s ‘Story Experience Quest’, players will get to play through the beginning of the story which serves as a basic tutorial as the quest leads to a hunt for a Chatacabra, a new frog-like monster that’s making its debut in Wilds. Then, players can take on the mission to hunt an Alpha Doshaguma, also a new monster making its debut.
Both quests in the Open Beta will feature multiplayer as the SOS Flare, a feature that allows players to call in players to help with a hunt, will be available. Just like in previous games, you can play with up to three other players, but in Wilds, if there aren’t enough players, the game will fill the group with NPC support hunters, so if you go on alone, you’ll still have some sort of support on each hunt quest.
The open beta will also feature crossplay between all three platforms.
The Open Beta was announced during the game’s October showcase which contained new information about the game as well as a new trailer that features new locations, and monsters. You can have a look at the new trailer below.
Monster Hunter Wilds is set to launch on February 28, 2025 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam.
