New Dead Island 2 Gameplay Trailer introduces Alexa Game Controls
/Developer Dambuster Studio released a new gameplay trailer for their upcoming open world game Dead Island 2. The video highlights its Los Angeles setting, the many weapons you can wield to do some zombie slaying, and apparently will feature Alexa Game Controls.
The addition for Alexa Game Controls feels and looks rather simple as you can say “Hey zombie” to catch the attention of the nearest zombie. You can then use Alexa to equip a sharp weapon from your inventory or go “Activate Fury!”, because you apparently have zombie powers that allow you to shred zombies with your bare hands. Using Alexa is an unusual gimmick but no harm in experimenting different ways to play.
Aside from the Alexa Game Controls support, Dead Island 2 is looking like what we’d expect from a sequel and is looking rather fresh for the eyes as this is a vibrant zombie game compared to the more brown and bleck setting we’ve seen in recent releases.
Another surprise from the new gameplay trailer is how brutal the zombie killing will be in Dead Island 2, as the game’s Fully Locational Evisceration System (F.L.E.S.H. for short) is in full display here as we saw a lot of gory ways to off zombies.
We were also given a glimpse of the many zombie types such as regular zombies, large ones, smart ones, practically the same bunch of enemy types you’d expect in a zombie game.

Dead Island 2 has experienced a rocky development that it was reintroduced this year and was expected to launch early next year. It was then delayed yet again to now launch on April 28, 2023 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC through the Epic Games Store.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
