Overwatch 2’s New Hero Is Lifeweaver, Going Live on April 12 for Season 4

Blizzard Entertainment has fully revealed the new support hero Lifeweaver, which is set to launch on April 12 alongside the shooter’s Season 4.

Lifeweaver’s full name is Niran PruksaManee (nickname Bua) and is the game’s first hero from Thailand. The character is being voiced by Thai actor Phuwin Tangsakyuen.

Here’s a quick description of the new hero by Blizzard:

“Lifeweaver is characterized by his love and respect for nature as well as his advanced biolight technology. This groundbreaking technology is woven throughout his abilities, and it plays a pivotal role in the healing and utility aspects of his kit.”

“Lifeweaver has a unique playstyle that introduces a few new mechanics into the game, so let’s take a walk through his kit and how he was developed. His final look is the result of a culmination of many different teams, including various concept art, hero design, and narrative. One of these pieces features an older physician who drew healing energy into his hands and blasted it into his allies, a bit like Moira’s Coalescence.“

The support hero provides a lot of mobility as it can provide a platform that launches a hero if used, dashes towards your direction, and pull an ally to your location (hopefully a safe location). He then has an Ultimate that heals allies near the ability. His passive is a bit weird as it can heal enemies that use it, though allies gain more life.

Here’s a quick rundown of each of Lifeweaver’s skills.

Lifeweaver Ability Kit

Weapons

Healing Blossom - Hold to charge a healing burst. Release to heal a targeted ally.

Thorn Volley - Rapidly fire a spread of projectiles.

Abilities

Petal Platform - Throw a platform that springs upwards when stepped on.

Rejuvenating Dash - Dash toward your traveling direction and lightly heal yourself

Life Grip - Pull an ally to your location, protecting them as they travel.

Tree of Life (Ultimate) - Place a tree that instantly heals allies upon sprouting and continues healing periodically as it lives.

Passive

Parting Gift - On death, drop a gift that heals the first person, enemy, or ally, to pick it up

Just like previous seasons, Season 4 will come with a new Battle Pass with its own free and premium track. Owning the season pass will instantly give you access to Lifeweaver, though players can grind him for free if they reach a certain tier in the free track, likely mid-way through the pass. Players who don’t have access to him can try out his kit in the game’s training room, custom games, and in the limited-time game mode, Bob and Weave.

The multiplayer portion of Overwatch 2 is now available and free-to-play on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.
