PlayStation 5 Pro Revealed, It Will Cost $699 and Will Launch on November 7
/Sony Interactive Entertainment has officially revealed a stronger version of their PlayStation 5 system. Officially named the PlayStation 5 Pro, this stronger system provides a stronger system aimed at shortening the gap between the quality found in the fidelity graphics mode to the speed of the Performance graphics mode in the current system.
Simply put, this system is delivering higher fidelity graphics while maintaining the preferred 60 fps. The PlayStation 5 Pro will feature:
Upgraded GPU: With PS5 Pro, we are upgrading to a GPU that has 67% more Compute Units than the current PS5 console and 28% faster memory. Overall, this enables up to 45% faster rendering for gameplay, making the experience much smoother.
Advanced Ray Tracing: We’ve added even more powerful ray tracing that provides more dynamic reflection and refraction of light. This allows the rays to be cast at double, and at times triple, the speeds of the current PS5 console.
AI-Driven Upscaling: We’re also introducing PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, an AI-driven upscaling that uses a machine learning-based technology to provide super sharp image clarity by adding an extraordinary amount of detail.
PS5 Pro Game Boost
The enhancement found in the PS5 Pro will be found in what Sony calls the PS5 Pro Game Boost, which is said to be compatibly to more than 8,500 backward compatible PS4 games, stating this upgrade not only benefits current games.
During the presentation, Sony mentioned a few upcoming and recent titles that will be able to utilize the PS5 Pro’s new features when the system becomes available. These games are Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, Demon’s Souls, Dragon’s Dogma 2, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Gran Turismo 7, Hogwarts Legacy, Horizon Forbidden West, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, The Crew Motorfest, The First Descendant, The Last of Us Part II Remastered, and more.
The PlayStation 5 Pro will start at $699.99 USD, £699.99 GBP, €799.99 EUR, and ¥119,980 JPY. If you convert the US price to Philippine Peso, that brings the new console to around PHP 40,000.
The PlayStation 5 Pro will be available on November 7, 2024. Pre-orders for the console will begin on September 26,2024.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
