PlayStation's Lunar New Year Campaign Promo Features Kim Se Jeong
/Sony Interactive Entertainment for the Southeast Asian regions launched their Lunar New Year campaign called New Play-Year which features Korean global artist Kim Se Jeong.
PlayStation released a new video for the New Play-Year campaign feature Kin Se Jeong, stepping into various PlayStation characters and games such as EA FC 24, NBA 2K24, upcoming JPRG Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, and even as Aloy from the Horizon series.
“As someone who grew up playing video games, I am very proud to be working with PlayStation on this campaign. The concept is fun, where I get to play mysterious characters in the world of PlayStation and it is great to portray gaming characters, especially Tifa and Aloy who have great costumes and props! Please join me to celebrate Happy New Play-Year in PlayStation 5!” says Jeong.
This campaign also features a social challenge where fans can participate by using a specifically created Instagram filter to have a ‘video call’ with Kim Se Jeong and be given a chance to win PS5 covers that are autographed by the artist herself, plus other prizes.
During the Happy New Play-Year campaign, new promo deals for peripherals, PlayStation Plus subscription discounts, and PS5 games will be offered, though this varies depending on your region, so make sure you check the promo page to see what to expect in your area.
The PlayStation Store also has a Happy New Play-year sale for select games in select SEA regions.
Road to the Stage tournaments
PlayStation is also organizing various Road to the Stage tournaments for EA FC 24 and NBA 2K24 with a regional final to be held in Bankong in March 2024. This tournament is only for select Southeast Asian countries
Online qualifiers have already begun from January 30 and will run until February 13. The online regional final for the tournaments will be on February 24. The winners in each region will be sponsored a trip to the final in Bangkok, but those in the top 32 from each region will earn a 12-month subscription to PlayStation Plus Deluxe.
This will be music to the ears of kids who grew up on the series, but for the uninitiated, there’s nothing quite like the Mario & Luigi games. Mario & Luigi Brothership does its best to appeal to a wide range of players with charming presentation and a strong new Battle Plug system, but not everyone will be enamored with its reflex-testing gameplay.
