Pre-orders for the PlayStation VR 2 Will Be Available This Month in the Philippines

The PlayStation VR 2 is set to launch next year and if you’re looking to secure a unit in the Philippines, pre-orders will be available through local branches like DataBlitz for a limited time from November 15 to November 22, 2022.

According to Sony, the suggested retail price for just the PS VR 2 unit will be PHP 34,790. There’s no confirmation if the Philippines will get the PS VR 2 bundled with the upcoming game Horizon Call of the Mountain as the bundle was priced for other Southeast Asia regions but not here.

Back in September, Sony confirmed that the upcoming PS VR 2 will not be backwards compatible to the games released for the first PS VR, so it will be up to the developers of the VR titles to release PS VR 2 versions in the future.

The full list of games available on release isn’t confirmed but here are the games currently announced for PS VR 2, 11 of which were announced only this month.

  • The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR

  • Cities VR – Enhanced Edition

  • Crossfire: Sierra Squad

  • The Light Brigade

  • Cosmonious High

  • Hello Neighbor: Search and Rescue

  • Jurassic World Aftermath Collection

  • Pistol Whip VR

  • Zenith: The Last City

  • After the Fall

  • Tentacular

  • Horizon Call of the Mountain

  • Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge

The unit will be available in the Philippines on February 22, 2022, together with the rest of the world. For the sake of comparison — in the Philippines, the first PS VR headset for the PS4 currently costs around PHP 19,990, and the Oculus Quest 2 around PHP 22,495.
