Rainbow Six Siege Celebrates Crimson Heist Season Launch With A Free Week
/Ubisoft’s tactical multiplayer FPS shooter Rainbow Six Siege has officially entered Year 6 with the launch of Operation Crimson Heist, adding a series of new features, a rework of the Border map, as well as the brand new Battle Pass that now includes Flores, the latest operator added to the game’s roster. And to celebrate the latest update, everyone can download and play the game starting on March 18 until March 25 for free.
Operation Crimson Heist will be the first season that will feature the new Battle Pass that features 100 tiers of rewards as well as the operator Flores if you opt to unlock the premium track for 1,200 R6 Credits. Those who want to earn the new attack with Renown points or with R6 Credits will have to wait until the operator unlocks for all players starting March 30.
Flores seems to be a fun operator in the attacker pool as he has his Ratero Charge, a remote-controlled explosive drone that can scout the area for a limited time until it detonates. You can manually trigger the device to explode prematurely to knock out defensive gadgets, but if you do it right, you might just get a frag with it.
Flores isn’t the only exciting addition to R6 as select attacks can equip themselves with the new Gonne-6, a secondary weapon with one shot and is capable of destroying bulletproof gadgets like Maestro’s Evil Eye or if you need to clear a shield blocking a doorway. We also get the reworked Border map and players can try out the changes done in the limited Border only playlist.
Other features added to the game with Crimson Heist includes a match replay (beta phase), a newcomer playlist rework, and improvements to drones like a better proximity awareness (to drones going against Mizzie’s Pests) and a change in disabled state for certain electronic gadgets.
In Crimson Heist, some operators also went down in price for both Renown and R6 credits currencies. Lion and Finka now cost 10,000 Renown / 240 R6 Credits. Mozzie and Gridlock now cost 15,000 Renown / 360 R6 Credits, and Oryx and Iana now costs 20,000 Renown / 480 R6 credits.
Rainbow Six Siege’s free week starts tomorrow, March 18 and will run until March 25 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. During this period, the base game will be up to 70% off in respective online stores.
