Returnal first launched as a PlayStation 5 exclusive back in 2021 and was easily a 9/10 game that’s highly recommended to those that love the challenge a rogue-like title provides. The story is mind-numbing and just keeps going off the rails as you progress through the game, leaving you with more questions the deeper you’re in.
After release, Returnal was updated with free content such as the Tower of Sisyphus, which gives new challenges and more context in Selene’s journey, plus a co-op mode that allows players to go through the game with a friend.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
