Another Open Beta for Diablo IV Is Coming in May to Push Server Limits
/Blizzard may have gone gold with Diablo IV as there’s still much work to do as they prepare for the game’s June 6 launch. The company and its fans know the reputation they have when it comes to game launches, so to prepare, they are hosting another open beta test dubbed “Server Slam” on all platforms to really push their servers.
The Server Slam open beta will take place on May 12-14 and will start at 12 pm PT / 3 pm ET on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. Co-op and couch co-op will be available as well as cross-play and cross-progression with all platforms.
This beta session will have the same content as the last open beta – the prologue and the entirety of Act 1, which means the first big zone called Fractured Peaks and all of its side content and dungeons will be available for you to explore. All five characters will be available and the max level will be set to level 20. The world boss Ashava will also be available again starting May 13 at 9 am PT, then every three hours after the first spawn. The final spawn will be on May 14 at 9 am PT.
There’s a bigger incentive to join the Ashava hunt as this beta will feature the Cry of Asdhava Mount Trophy.
Again, don’t get too attached to the characters you play in this beta as your character’s progress will not carry over to the full game. Additionally, your characters from the previous open beta will not carry over as well, so everyone is starting fresh during Server Slam.
There will be slight changes during Server Slam as Blizzard mentioned that the Legendary item drop rate will now reflect the drop rate figures planned for the launch version of Diablo IV.
For those that didn’t get a chance to play the Early Access and open beta and wish to earn the rewards meant for those events, Blizzard is giving you a chance to earn them during Server Slam. The rewards are the Initial Casualty Title, the Early Voyager Title, and the Wolf Pack cosmetic item (earned by reaching level 20 with one character).
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
