Sony To Remove Little Big Planet 3 From the PlayStation Store on October 31
/Little Big Planet community has more bad news coming their way as Little Big Planet 3 will be removed from the PlayStation Store on October 31.
The announcement was made in a statement from the official Little Big Planet X page.
For those who own Little Big Planet 3, don’t worry. You will still have access to the game and its DLCs after October 31. This delisting will mainly affect new users hoping to purchase the game digitally in the future.
But what if I downloaded and played the game through PlayStation Plus?
It is also confirmed that if a user has downloaded Little Big Planet 3 through PlayStation Plus, they can still continue to play the game after October 31. Sony will simply not remove what you’ve already claimed. However, being subscribed to the service to have access to your PS Plus library still applies.
This is the latest update to the famed platformer where players can create their own stages and share them with the rest of the world for players to enjoy. The game’s downward spiral started earlier this year as the PS4 Little Big Planet 3 servers were compromised and were experiencing multple Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks, which forced Sony to shut down the game’s servers temporarily as a result. In April 2024, with no resolution to the server issues in sight, Sony ultimately decided to keep the game’s servers offline permanently, resulting in roughly 10 million user-created levels now offline and unplayable to the community. This includes all the levels from Little Big Planet 1, and Little Big Planet 2 as Little Big Planet 3 featured the ability to allow players to play player-created levels from past games.
Now, new players will also miss their chance to own the game digitally after October. Little Big Planet 3 was removed from the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog just last September 2024 for Extra and Premium/Deluxe members.
The delisting of the game from the PlayStation Store is a sad update for the Little Big Planet community but some are speculating that this might be a sign that Sony is planning some kind of collection package for Little Big Planet 3 or some kind of remaster for the PS5, similar to how we saw the original Horizon Zero Dawn leaving PS Plus right before the remastered was announced. This, of course, is hopeful thinking from the community as there’s no report that would support this.
Lego Horizon Adventures transforms the serious world of Horizon Zero Dawn into a playful experience geared towards younger gamers. With a lighter story, fun character twists, and familiar machines recreated in Lego form, it serves as a charming introduction to Aloy’s universe. While hardcore fans may find it a bit basic, it’s ideal for friendly, family-oriented play with loved ones of any age.
