Soulslike Game Deathbound Announced, Features Unique Party System
/Publisher Tate Multimedia and developer Trialforge Studio have announced their new Soulslike action RPG called Deathbound. It’s set to release in 2024 on Steam.
To accompany the announcement, they released a trailer for the game to give you a good look at its unique party system.
In the trailer, you see different characters seamlessly switching between one another, this is due to what the game calls the binding system, a mechanic that allows players to switch between characters in a party they have formed by collecting the essence from fallen warriors. These warriors that you collect will have their own set of classes and playstyles and the player can switch between each one during combat. There’s even a mechanic called Morphstrikes, which combines each of the character’s powers to form a massive attack on enemies.
Here’s a quick rundown of the game and its features based on Deathbound’s Steam page.
“Embark on a crusade through a medieval world forged from the ruins of technology. Where fanatical faith and unnatural science clash in the shadows of a crumbling society. The Church of Death stands at the gates of the grand city of Akratya.”
”Their banners raised, righteous steel in hand. Their holy conquest to eliminate the Cult of Life is about to begin…amongst it all stands you. You are no one, yet everyone, the results of desperate experimentation in the pursuit of Eternal Life. In the eyes of the Church, an icon of sin and heresy. To others, validation of their relentless experiments. You stand in a world where there is no good nor evil, only justifications.”

Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
