Starfield’s Second Update Killed the Puddle Loot Bug
/Bethesda Game Studios patched Starfield with the 1.7.33 update, effectively removing the famous puddle loot glitch that was showering players with free loot since the game officially launched.
The puddle glitch is funny and unfairly lucrative for any space explorer as a certain part of the city allows you to access a vendor’s goods without spending any credits. Essentially, all you have to do to get free loot is simply put your cursor at the right spot to access Emerson Shepard’s inventory for free in Akila City.
Players would grab all of the vendor’s items, sell them, then wait/rest either 24-48 hours in in-game hours for the vendor to restock and do the whole process all over again.
Aside from that glitch, everything else seems pretty minor. Here’s the rundown of the rest of the patch.
Starfield 1.7.33 Update
General
Characters: Fixed an issue that could cause some characters to not be in their proper location.
Star Stations: Fixed an issue where Star Stations would be labeled as a player-owned ship.
Vendors: Addressed an issue that allowed for a vendor’s full inventory to be accessible.
Graphics
AMD (PC): Resolved an issue that caused star lens flares not to appear correctly AMD GPUs.
Graphics: Addressed an upscaling issue that could cause textures to become blurry.
Graphics: Resolved an issue that could cause photosensitivity issues when scrolling through the inventory menu.
Performance and Stability
Hand Scanner: Addressed an issue where the Hand Scanner caused hitching.
Various stability and performance improvements to address crashing and freezes.
Ships
Displays: Fixed an issue that would cause displayed items to disappear when applied to in-ship mannequins.
Displays: Fixed an issue that would cause items stored in Razorleaf Storage Containers and Weapon Racks to disappear after commandeering another ship.
This is the second patch released for Starfield since it was officially launched on September 6. The first major patch had minor fixes but was also accompanied by the studio promising quality-of-life improvements like an FOV slider or the ability to eat food on the spot, instead of eating it through the game’s menu.
Metaphor: ReFantazio is now my favorite title from the Persona team by far. It’s one of those rare games where its main pillars work harmoniously, and you get lost in its charm. It’s a pristine JRPG, with enough style and substance to satisfy hardcore JRPG fans, Persona fans, and even those who rarely touch JRPGs.
