Thanks to the Fallout TV Show, over 1 Million Players Tried Fallout 76
/The Fallout TV series that debuted on Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service is successful as many flock to Bethesda’s latest Fallout titles, including their online offering Fallout 76, which saw 1 million new players across multiple platforms trying out the game soon after the first season of the show dropped on April 10.
It’s fair to point out that during the show’s first week, Fallout 76 was free to play for a week, which helped many to give it a chance with no barrier to entry. It’s interesting to see many sticking with the game soon after as they just hit an all-time concurrent player count on Steam a couple of days ago as of this writing. It’s also available on Xbox and PC Game Pass, including the rest of the series.
As much as it’s an online game with daily activities and events with servers hosting up to 24 players in one space, the core experience is still mainly a Bethesda Fallout game with a strong emphasis on base building and crafting. It did have a terrible launch but Bethesda has turned it around to not the best game in the franchise but a more than tolerable experience that can be shared with friends.
The show has been a big hit as it currently holds a 93% rating on Rotten Tomatoes with a 88% audience rating. The success was clear that amazing has already greenlit it’s second season.
But Fallout 76 isn’t the only Fallout title getting some love thanks to the influence of the show as Fallout 4 has also been given a bump as shown in SteamDB as it reached over 160,000 concurrent users, an impressive bump for a game released back in 2015. Fallout: New Vegas, was also shown a considerable bump.
Metaphor: ReFantazio is now my favorite title from the Persona team by far. It’s one of those rare games where its main pillars work harmoniously, and you get lost in its charm. It’s a pristine JRPG, with enough style and substance to satisfy hardcore JRPG fans, Persona fans, and even those who rarely touch JRPGs.
