The Big Announcements During the Pokémon Presents February 2025 Broadcast

The Pokémon Company hosted a broadcast presentation on the latest in the Pokémon franchise, as they mainly focused on various titles such as Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket, Pokémon Legends: Z-A, Pokémon Unite, and the just announced Pokémon Champions.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A to launch in Late 2025

The next big Pokemon title, Pokémon Legends: Z-A, didn’t get an exact release date reveal but a release window as they announced that the new game will launch sometime in late 2025. With its new gameplay of the gam, showing off traversal through town and showcases Mega Evolution being a key feature once again.

Pokémon Champions Announced

The new title revealed for the first time is Pokémon Champions being developed by The Pokémon Works wth The Pokémon Company.

It’s a Pokémon battle arena game where players from either the Switch or mobile can battle it out with the Pokémon found in a player’s Pokémon Home, a service that gives subscribers the abitity to store any Pokémon they’ve collected from compatible Pokémon games.

This new, battle-focused game will feature familiar mechanics such as Pokemon types, Abilities, and moves, creating an environment conducive to rich and varied strategies for new and experienced Trainers alike. Look forward to cross-platform battles alongside your favorite Pokemon on Nintendo Switch and mobile, with a variety of different modes available for your desired experience.”

Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket Expansion Coming February 28

The hit online card game Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket, is getting a new expansion on February 28 called ‘Triumphant Light’. It will feature mythical Pokémon Arceus, various new Pokémon, Trainer cards, and more.

Free booster packs will be given out for a special Pokémon Day event in-game to celebrate the release of the new expansion.

Pokemon Unite to add Suicune, Alolan Raichu, ad Alcremie in 2025

The broadcast also highlighted new updates and announcements for their quick MOBA Pokémon Unite. The game will be updated with three new playable Pokemon - Suicune on March 1, Alolan Raichu in April, and Alcremie later in the future.

The game will also feature a new game mode called First to 500, which is simply teams racing to 500. The new mode also featured a new series of effects when a team reaches a certain amount of points. The game mode will also feature an updated map with wild Pokémon populating key areas. It was also announced that Remoat Stadium will be coming back to Ranked matches for a limited time.
