The Cycle: Frontier Season 2 Revealed, Starts in September

Developer Yager have revealed season 2 of their high-stakes shooter The Cycle: Frontier, which is set to go live on September 28. The biggest feature to come to the online game is a new map called Tharis Island, a deadly new map that will have an underground cave system and will host a way to improve your gear.

During the livestream, Yager showed the new map in action and its underground caves look dark and anxiety-inducing. The new map will eventually be accessible as you progress through the game’s three factions in season 2. The new season will also come with a brand new Fortuna Pass with its own set of rewards.

Another notable feature that is coming in season 2 is the ability to reconnect to a game. Currently, if you’re on the ground and for some reason disconnect, the game will bring you back to the outpost as if you died, losing all of the items on your character. With the new reconnect feature, you can go back to the raid you were previously on but Yager didn’t go into detail on how exactly this will work.

Yager also mentioned more balancing changes such as buffs to higher tier armor like purple and pink tiers as well as the ability to buy items in bulk. They also mentioned more content is planned for the game and mentioned a new monster called the “Howler”, which will be built as some sort of mini flying boss.

The Cycle: Frontier season 2 goes live on September 28 and when the new season goes live, all equipment will be wiped in all accounts, making all players start fresh and on even ground with each other. Cosmetics and aurum you earned in the previous season will be retained.

Yager also promised more anti-cheat measures for the game as the main issue that has plagued this free-to-play game since launch was the amount of cheaters populating its servers. Recently, the developers implemented a compensation system to the game that allows players a chance to earn back the gear they lost if they were killed by a cheater that was recently banned.
