During the keynote address from Final Fantasy XIV Online Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida, he also revealed that the game’s free trial will now feature the Stormblood expansion, making those still in the free trial state to play the game’s base game and its first three expansions for free.
Final Fantasy XIV Online is finally coming to Xbox
Another surprise from Yoshida is the announcement that Final Fantasy XIV Online is finally coming to Xbox consoles, specifically Xbox Series X and S. CEO of Microsoft Gaming Phil Spencer joined Yoshida on stage to announce that the Xbox version is coming in Spring 2024. They plan to release an open beta during the start of the patch 6.5 series and will only be available digitally with 4k support on the Series X. If everything goes well, the Xbox version will be ready in time for the Dawntrail expansion.
Final Fantasy XIV x Fall Guys collaboration
Yoshida also revealed a collaboration with the battle royale game Fall Guys as they plan to release a “Warriors of Light Fame Pass” in Fall Guys on August 22. Then, a new Fall Guys-inspired attraction is coming to Final Fantasy XIV Online’s Gold Saucer during the game’s patch 6.5x series.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
