The PlayStation 5 “Slim” Disc Version Officially Launching in the Philippines in March 2024
/The slimmer version of the PlayStation 5 will officially hit the Philippines on March 27 as pre-orders are now open in local retailers, roughly four months after this new version hit stores in the US and other select regions.
This new model is not only slender but weighs much less compared to the original, especially the digital version that doesn’t come with an HD Blu-ray disc drive but has the option to add one if you find a need for it in the future.
The design of the slimmer PS5 was also changed as it now features 4 separate detachable cover panels.
Local retail stores in the Philippines such as Datablitz and Game One PH have their pre-orders for the PS5 Slim and have priced this new version at PHP 30,790 for the disc version. There’s no word if the digital version will be available this March. Those interested will have to put a downpayment of PHP 5,000 to reserve a copy.
They will also sell the new PS5 vertical stand at PHP 1,690 separately when the PS5 Slim launches, which is compatible with all PS5 versions.
Sony Interactive Entertainment will slowly make this version of the PlayStation 5 the dominant version as they will focus all their production efforts on the slimmer PS5, phasing out all other versions before it.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
