[UPDATED]Metal Gear Solid V announced, trailer shown during GDC
/UPDATE - Gameplay demo of MGS V was released via YouTube by GamesRadar.
UPDATE - It turns out that there will be two games - Ground Zeroes being the prologue to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain which takes place 9 years after the prologue. The gameplay demo released shows the start of Phantom Pain. Also, David Hayter will not return to voice Snake. Kojima is going for a completely different take on Metal Gear Solid this time around, and changing the iconic voice is needed for his vision, so he says.
During this year's GDC, Hideo Kojima throws a curve ball and surprised everyone with the reveal of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Now, everybody suspected a fifth game was well underway, what shocked the gaming world is that Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes, and The Phantom Pain, a new game announced in last year's VGA, is actually MGS V. A trailer was released with a mix of old and new, all showing off the stunning new FOX Engine. Have a look below.
The game looks amazing and retains the same feel found in past MGS games. I appreciate What Kojima Productions, or rather, Hideo Kojima, did by trying to fool the industry but leaving clues for the hardcore of fans to figure out. I'm going to consider him the biggest troll in the industry and will second guess anything new he throws out from now on.
No other information was given, but its safe to say Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is a next-gen project.
[UPDATE] Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain GDC gameplay demo
Gameplay footage shows Snake in the hospital all disoriented after being asleep for 9 years. This is pretty much the part seen in the Phantom Pain trailer which showed a bit of horror elements which I'm really digging. its also pretty hilarious since we see Snake crawl most of the time. Have a look below.
