Soulcalibur VI Announces Custom Character, 'Libra of Soul' and Tira As DLC
/Soulcalibur VI will once again let players create a custom character for use in one of the game modes called "Libra of Soul." According to Bandai Namco, the players will fight against and alongside the game's roster in this single-player story campaign.
Libra of Soul will be one of two single-player story modes in the game. In it, players roam the world on "a quest to stop a new evil mastermind at work to gather Soul Edge shards." Naturally, players will bump into other stalwarts of the Soulcalibur series as well as custom fighters created by other players.
The other campaign, Chronicle of Souls, explores the timeline of the Soulcalibur series in a series of battles, conversations and 2D art. The trailer for Libra of Soul gives us a look at the character creator, which lets players choose from 16 races: humans, lizardpeople, automatons, mummies, living skeletons and more.
Bandai Namco also confirmed another fighter available as downloadable content (DLC) for Soulcalibur VI. Tira, wielder of the ring blade named Eiserne Drossel will be available for purchase as a stand-alone DLC while also being included as part of the game's season pass.
The announcement feels a little poorly timed, for while the Soulcalibur VI won't be out until October, the game's full roster of playable characters has not yet been revealed. Meaning Bandai Namco has put announcements for the DLC cart before the base game horse.
Soulcalibur VI will be released on PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One on Oct. 19.
