April 2023 State of Play will feature 20 Minutes of New Final Fantasy XVI Footage
/Sony Interactive Entertainment will host another State of Play broadcast this April 13, at 5 PM EST/ April 14, 5 AM GMT + 8. The online event will feature more than 20 minutes of new footage of the upcoming Final Fantasy XVI.
It’s likely that this broadcast is solely a deep dive into Final Fantasy XVI, but if you’re eager for its release in June, you don’t want to skip this one.
“From the moment Final Fantasy XVI debuted in our 2020 PlayStation 5 Showcase, fans around the world have eagerly awaited details on the game’s dark fantasy setting, the powerful Eikons and the Dominants who house them, and the flashy battle system teased in those early trailers.” says PlayStation in their official blog post announcing the upcoming State of Play.
Final Fantasy XVI is the next mainline title in the long-running RPG series. The last title was Final Fantasy XV, which debuted back in 2016.
The State of Play can be watched on PlayStation’s official YouTube or Twitch channels.
Final Fantasy XVI will launch on PlayStation 5 on June 22.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
