Battlefield 2042 open beta confirmed, starts on October 6
/EA and DICE have revealed the full details on the upcoming open beta for Battlefield 2042, which starts next week. Players from various platforms can try out the game from October 8 and will run until October 9, 2021. EA Play members and those that pre-ordered the game get more time with the game as they are given early access to the beta starting on October 6.
The open beta will be available for those in PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. All players can start preloading the game on October 5, 3 AM ET / 3 PM GMT +8 for all platforms.
The open beta will only feature a single map Orbital in the game mode Conquest. It will also feature four specialists - Boris, Casper, Falck, and Mackay. This is Battlefield 2042’s class system where each one brings unique tools to the fight like a grappling hook to automated sentry guns.
Last generation consoles will be limited to 64-players in each match while PC, PS5, Xbox SeriesX|S will feature up to 128 players.
EA and DICE also provided the minimum and recommended PC specs for the beta.

Battlefield 2042 was originally slated for an October release but was delayed by a month and is now coming out on November 19, 2021.
