Capcom reveals Street Fighter’s 35th anniversary logo

Capcom revealed the Street Fighter 35th anniversary logo via Twitter, reminding us of how old the fighting game franchise is and that a possible announcement is coming in 2022.

Street Fighter first launched in Japan on August 12, 1987, which means the 35th anniversary celebration will officially start on August 12, 2022, a rather fitting opportunity for Capcom to unveil their next Street Fighter project sometime this year.

In Street Fighter V fall update video, director Takayuki Nakayama did mention at the end of the presentation that they will share information about the future of Street Fighter in 2022.

It’s all lining up for a big reveal as Street Fighter V have wrapped up post content with the release of the final character Luke now officially out. Capcom has stated before the release of Luke that he will play a “major part” on the next entry in the Street Fighter series. What does that mean? We are not entirely sure just yet but expect something from Capcom this year.

Street Fighter V is the latest entry for the fighting game series released for PlayStation 4 and PC and has 45 playable characters. The game was released in 2016 and it started with just 16 characters.
