Cyberpunk 2077 Is Now Back On The PlayStation Store

CD Projekt Red and PlayStation has announced that Cyberpunk 2077 is now back on the PlayStation Store, more than six months after it was pulled from the online store due to various performance issues that plagued players that purchased the game at launch. This time around, the game’s store page warns players to not play the game on a base PS4 unit.

Solid advice as despite numerous patches since launch, the PS4 and Xbox One version remains as the worst version of Cyberpunk 2077 as it’s still affected by FPS drops, slow rendering, and other performance issues that will ruin the experience. I also reviewed the PS4 version after finishing my time with the PC version and the gap in performance is huge that it’s still shocking to know CD Projekt Red went on to release the game in this state.

If you search for Cyberpunk 2077 right now on the PlayStation Store, you’ll notice a warning from Sony, suggesting to not play the game on a base PS4.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Users continue to experience performance issues with this game. Purchase for use on PS4 systems is not recommended. For the best Cyberpunk experience on PlayStation, play on PS4 Pro and PS5 systems.

Back in December it was really bad, to a point that after 10 days since Cyberpunk 2077’s launch, Sony made the decision to pull the RPG out of the PlayStation Store and offer full refunds to all players.

CD Projekt Red Tweeted the return of their game to the online store and reminded players that a next gen PS5 upgrade will be available to all owners of the PS4 version for free, but stated that it will be available sometime in the second half of 2021.
