Destiny 2 Going From 4 Seasons per Year to 3 Episodes per Year Starting in 2024
/Bungie’s yearly Destiny 2 showcase gave us a good look at what to expect from The Final Shape, the next expansion for the free-to-play looter shooter coming out in 2024. One of the biggest announcements is the change-up in the game’s live service as they are moving from a four-season per year model to three content drops called episodes.
It may seem less but the content after The Final Shape will be longer and hopefully more packed as suppose to Bungie churning out four packages every year.
The first episode is called Echoes and will run from March 2024 until June 2024 and will consist of three Acts, with each Act lasting six weeks. The first Act is a bit more packed as it starts the episodes with a new exotic weapon, a new exotic mission, new quests, the start of the episode’s main story, new activities, new weapons, new artifact mods, new armor, and pass rewards. The next two acts will follow to add more content to cover roughly four months.
After the first Episode, Episode Revenant will come next and will run from July until October 2024. Lastly, we have Episode Heresy which is planned to ruin from November 2024 until February 2025.
This is only a portion of what was revealed during the showcase as most of its time was spent showing off the next expansion The Final Shape, which is coming on February 27, 2024, as it concludes the story between light and dark, a narrative that began since the start of the franchise.
You can watch the full reveal of The Final Shape below as this expansion will take us to a new campaign inside the Traveler and will add a new location, new light subclasses, and more.
Metaphor: ReFantazio is now my favorite title from the Persona team by far. It’s one of those rare games where its main pillars work harmoniously, and you get lost in its charm. It’s a pristine JRPG, with enough style and substance to satisfy hardcore JRPG fans, Persona fans, and even those who rarely touch JRPGs.
