Destiny 2 Season 20 Weekly Reset - What's Happening in Week 5
/Another week, another reset in Destiny 2’s Season of Defiance (Season 20), but this time we have the finale for this season’s story content. Week 5 also features the return of Trials this weekend, the Master version of the new Roots of Nightmare raid, the Legend mode of the seasonal Battlegrounds activity, and more.
Destiny 2 - Season of Defiance Week 5
Trials of Osiris Week 2 - get that Immortal
Trials of Osiris will be back this weekend and it will be another chance for you to earn the new Immortal SMG. Even if it’s not an Adept version, it’s such a good gun that the normal one will do just fine.
The Immortal you get in Rank 10 is a good start for PvE players. As for PvP, I suggest you find a roll with Rangfinder/Perpetual Motion in the first perk, and Target Lock/Kill Clip in the second perk. Then for stats, hope for one with the most range.
Trials start this weekend, Friday at 10 AM PDT and ends on the next reset. Earning a Flawless will earn you the Whistler’s Whim (Adept) bow.
Final story content for the Season
Spoilers, something happened. If you’re still going through this season’s story content, look away. If you’re up to speed, take in the finale as Zavala has some touching words to conclude Season of Defiance.
Root of Nightmares - Master Raid
Bungie has opened the doors to a more difficult version of the new Root of Nightmares raid. If you’ve farmed enough of the normal version, get in there and see if your Fireteam can take on Master.
The only big change in Master is the Power level of 1840 and more Champions to deal with. There are also modifiers in this version of the raid such as Surges, which this week features Strand and Solar surges, so plan your builds to utilize these modifiers.
Another change is that chests in this mode will guarantee an armor piece rolling higher in a specific stat. This changes each week, and in Week 5, you’ll likely have a high roll stat to Resilience.
Take note that these high-stat armors are not Artifice armor.
There are also challenges now to the encounters that if completed will spawn an additional chest that will feature the Adept version of a raid weapon.
Vanguard and Nightfall Reward for the week
This week’s Nightfall is the Glassway from Europa. A pretty easy Strike even on the highest difficulty. The only issue is the boss room.
For this week’s Nightfall, this week’s featured drop is the sidearm Buzzard.
As for Vanguard Ops this week, sharpen your Stasis builds in order to earn the Pinnacle for the week.
This week’s Weekly Mission is tough
If you hope to get the weekly campaign mission in Lightfall done in Week 5 for the Pinnacle and Guardian Rank progression, expect the worse as this week’s featured mission is Desperate Measures, which is the final mission of the new expansion.
It’s going to be tough beating it on Master as Calus is no pushover.
Legend Seasonal Battlegrounds now available
This week also unlocks the Legend version of this season’s Battleground activities. Just like in previous Legend Battlegrounds, your equipment will be locked and you’ll need a good Fireteam to go through all the Champions. Completing this activity three times will score you a Pinnacle.
April Fools Day cosmetic bundle in the Eververse
In the in-game store, Bungie released a bundle to celebrate this year’s April Fools. I’m only mentioning this because of the fantastic Galloping Knight emote, for all those Monty Python and the Holy Grail fans out there.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
