Destiny 2 Season of Defiance Weekly Reset - What is Happening in Week 9
/This week’s reset in Destiny 2’s Season of Defiance (Season 20) has nothing big happening this week. Week 9, features the final Iron Banner, a Grandmaster of the latest Strike added to the game and enticing offers in the Bright Dust section of the in-game store.
Destiny 2 - Season of Defiance Week 9
Iron Banner is back once again
Another Iron Banner week and another chance at getting a decent Hero’s Burden roll. I’ve said this many times but you should definitely secure a version of this SMG with Destabilizing Rounds as it feels great for mob clearing with void.
This is your last chance at Iron Banner in Season of Defiance, so be sure to get what you need from this event this week. The featured game mode for this Iron Banner week is Team Fortress.
Featured Grandmaster Nightfall is the Lightfall Strike
This week’s featured Grandmaster isn’t so bad as it features the new HyperNet Current Strike that was released in the Lightfall expansion. Actually, at the time of this writing, players are reporting it’s an easy farm, especially if you are still looking for a proper roll for Wendigo GL3 as the Adept version is this week’s featured weapon.
You can focus on the featured Adept weapon, you’ll just need 10 Nightfall Ciphers, 50 Legendary Shards, 1 Vanguard Engram, and 50,000 Glimmer. And yes, you still can only carry 10 Ciphers, a change I hope comes soon.
Also, new players attempting Grandmaster should take note that your fireteam needs to earn a Platinum medal upon completing the run as doing so guarantees an Adept drop. So, be sure you kill all the champions in the Strike.
Featured Raid and Dungeon for Week 9
Week 9 features the Deep Stone Crypt raid and is another opportunity to earn a few patterns for craftable raid weapons that drop in this raid as many believe it’s one of the best craftable loot pools currently available in the game. All challenges for the raid are also available.
For the featured Dungeon, we have the Shattered Throne. In case you are still maxing out your Power score, each of these featured activities scores you a pinnacle reward.
The Bright Dust store is packed with goodies
This week’s offering is tempting as we have the Calyptra ornament for the exotic bow Le Monarque for all you bow users in Crucible, the Hjörþrimul ornament for the exotic Titan Loreley Splendor Helm, and the Calefactor ornament for the Forerunner exotic sidearm.
Also, if you’ve been buying this season’s featured cosmetic set for your chosen class each week, this week completes the set as I got all five pieces for my Titan through Bright Dust.
This is another chance to get some seasonal challenges done as Week 4 did have a challenge that requires you to play Momentum Control. If you haven’t done it, make sure you do it for some experience and Bright Dust.
That’s the current highlights for Week 9. It’s business as usual as there’s not much going on, so this is the perfect opportunity to deal with any loose ends in other activities as Week 10 will feature the annual Guardian Games event.
As usual, the usual changes for each featured raid dungeon, the modifiers for each one have changed and you can have a look at what to expect on the Destiny 2 subreddit page.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
